You come across the alternative version in the Trinity Hymnal?

3. He left his Father's throne above
(so free, so infinite his grace!),
humbled himself (so great his love!)
and bled for all his chosen race!
'Tis mercy all, immense and free,
for, O my God, it found out me!

When you acknowledge that there is more to life than what appears on the surface, life becomes ever so much more interesting. Jesus taught about that deeper spiritual layer. He cast spirits out of many. Ephesians 6:12 says, "We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." We ought not to be afraid of that, but have courage because if God is for us, who can be against us. No one. The Scriptures teach us how to be spiritual, how to distinguish between the holy and the unholy. Life in the Spirit is full of new surprises! The way God leads us in the Spirit is very unique and individual!
